Apple Messages, Telegram, and WhatsApp Need Self-Destructing Chats

I started noticing two behaviours when using chat platforms like Apple Messages, Telegram, and WhatsApp:

  • People create chats to organise an event, to plan, discuss, etc.

  • People then feel a bit awkward leaving the group after the event, and we have dozens (if not hundreds, I gave up scrolling) dead groups polluting our chat history.

I suggest all the platforms implement self-destructing groups - when we create groups, we can opt for it to self-archive after the event (say Xmas Party Planning should be archived after the event).

This could also lead to interesting features, just like Apple Photos and Google Photos uses Geo Data to create funky albums about travels, platforms can use metadata from the chats to create collages after events are done.
